At POLY, we focus on teaching children English through the five senses and try to make learning English as fun and interesting as possible. We also focus on the physical and social development of our students and promote a sense of creativity and imagination within them.

 

 

CEO's Message

Over the past 20 years or so, the standards of English education created by POLY have had a huge impact on English education in Korea. Leading curriculum and learning programs led to the improvement of the quality of English education in Korea, and the talents trained by POLY became a model and a goal for learners.

Our Programs

1. The Kindergarten Program focuses on building the foundations of English learning in students. The ESL courses taught in this level cover topics such as phonics, vocabulary, listening, and basic speaking, writing, and reading.

 

2. The Elementary Program teaches students the four skills of English and focuses on conversation. Children at this age, are encouraged to use only English in the classroom. Students are taught a variety of topics such as: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, essay writing, and current events.

All teachers at POLY are provided with a studio apartment within walking distance of the school, rent-free. POLY Daejeon is located in the middle of Korea with a mix of modern and traditional Korean culture. Daejeon is surrounded by rivers and mountains and is the 5th largest city in Korea. Check out dinosaurs at the National Science Museum, enjoy the view from Daedong Sky Park and Hanbat Arboretum, check out the attractions to Daejeon O-World, and go shopping at Daejeon Sky Road.

Kindergarten-Elementary School Teacher for Students with Advanced English

Why Work with POLY Daejeon?   POLY Daejeon is looking for qualified teachers to serve as kindergarten to elementary school-age teacher. You will be teaching mainly kindergarten classes with some elementary classes in the afternoons. POLY specializes in helping students who have lived abroad extensively and have advanced English levels. As a teacher, you will need to be a quick thinker and be able to facilitate critical discussions in class.   1. Role and responsibilities. Plan, prepare and deliver lessons Prepare teaching materials ahead of time Grade regular homework assignments Prepare and create tests and examinations Track and report students’ performance and give feedback Teach advanced English level kindergarten students ages 6-7 speaking, stories, arts and crafts, phonics, reading, and writing Teach advanced English level elementary school students through speaking and writing, reading, grammar, and book discussion classes   2. Candidate Qualifications:   Foreigners (E-2, F-2, F-5, F-6 Visa Holders) Must be citizens of the following countries: U.S.A, Canada, U.K, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa. Must have all required documents (apostilled nationwide criminal background check and an apostilled diploma from a 4-year accredited university. A clean self-medical health check     3. Working Conditions Working Hours: M-F: 9 AM-6:40 PM (Actual working hours vary per year; currently teachers are only working from 9 AM-6:40 PM) Teaching Hours: 31 hours/week Age Level: 5-11 years old (Class Size: 15 Max)   4. Kindergarten-Elementary School Teacher for Students with Advanced English

You will be teaching mainly kindergarten classes with some elementary classes in the afternoons.   POLY specializes in helping students who have lived abroad extensively and have advanced English levels. As a teacher, you will need to be a quick thinker and be able to facilitate critical discussions in class.   You will be responsible for the following: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons Prepare teaching materials ahead of time Grade regular homework assignments Prepare and create tests and examinations Track and report students’ performance and give feedback Teach advanced English level kindergarten students ages 6-7 speaking, stories, arts and crafts, phonics, reading, and writing Teach advanced English level elementary school students through speaking and writing, reading, grammar, and book discussion classes   2.
