The Mission of Mountain Cherry Academy is to provide each student a place for learning, thinking, and sharing. MCA offers the starting point and stepping stones for each student in the pathway to realize his/her full potential.

Our Programs

    1-4.  Mountain Cherry Academy provides a variety of North American style curriculum programs to children from Pre-K to Grade 12. MCA utilizes the Common Core State Standards, STEM, STEAM, and Khan Academy in their curriculum. 

The core subjects offered to students in all grades are: Language arts, math, science, social studies, technology, and engineering. Optional courses include: leadership, music, orchestra, gardening, and test prep.

 

 

 

Location

Mountain Cherry Academy is located in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi-do province. Yongin is home to Everland and Carribean Bay, South Korea's most popular amusement and water parks. The city is also home to the Korean Folk Village, which is the largest traditional Korean village of its kind.  MCA is also located in Gihueng district which has one of the few IKEA locations in the country!

Secondary Spanish and Subject Teacher // Beginner Spanish // 12 Weeks Vacation

1. Role and Responsibilities As a secondary Spanish teacher, you will primarily be teaching grades 7-10 beginner to intermediate Spanish in English. You will also be teaching subjects other than just Spanish.   Responsibilities: Teach a variety of Spanish classes ranging from beginner to intermediate Spanish Create immersive courses. The teacher will primarily use English or the target language for instruction and design a student-centered course Create lessons that are driven by data and promote critical thinking through Spanish and other core subject teaching The focus will be on improving the language skills of the students while also incorporating Hispanic culture, history and literature Provide a range of instructional, management, and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students Consistently hold students to high behavioral and academic expectations Participate in creating, revising, administering, and grading assessments and tracking student data Continuously cultivate strong relationships with students and families through open communication Mastery of content knowledge and the ability to communicate clearly to students Teach other subject classes   2. Candidate Qualifications Candidates must be a citizen of a native Spanish-speaking country; Mexico, Colombia, or Spain Candidates must be able to communicate in proficient English Candidates must be able to teach other subjects besides Spanish Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor degree from an accredited university   Preferences Candidates that have teaching experience are preferred   We may provide housing for the quarantine period. However, candidates that are already in Korea will be considered first.   3. Working Conditions Working Hours: 7:40 AM - 4:30 PM Number of Classes: 5 classes/day Class Length: 50 mins/class Students Per Class: 10 students max Student Age Range: Grades 7-10   5.
