KIPI (Korea Institute of Patent Information) is a non-profit organization established in July 1995 in accordance with the Civil Act. Its major duties are to support the administrative affairs of KIPO. For the duties, it launched an online patent information search service (KIPRIS) on July 1996, and was awarded contracts to conduct prior art search, IPC (International Patent Classification) assignment, and trademark search by KIPO on August 1996, January 2001, and February 2003 respectively. In addition to supporting KIPO, KIPI has been providing a patent information service (FORX) for the private sector companies.

Korea Institute of Patent Information (KIPI) is recruiting new staff as follows:   1. Position title: Translator-Editor (Full-time)   2. Employer: Korea Institute of Patent Information (KIPI) - Address: KIPI, 7th Floor, 131, Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea(135-980)   3. Contract period : 1 year   4. Qualification The successful candidate will be an applicant who fulfills all of the following requirement: - Native English speaker with visa types: F-2, F-4, F-5, or F-6. ※ Preferred Qualifications (1) Bachelor’s degree or higher in science or engineering (electronics, biology, physics, etc.) (2) At least 1 year of experience in English translation or editing, or a patent-related or research field (3) High proficiency in reading/comprehending Korean ※ Preferential points - Disabled person registered in Korea and/or TOPCIT certification holder (level 3 or above) will be given special points.   5. Principal Duties (1) Proofreading documents translated from Korean into English in a wide range of technical fields (2) Proofreading English documents, speeches and letters drafted by staff members (3) Evaluating job applicants’ English proficiency   6. Working Conditions (1) Working hours: 9 am to 6 pm (2) Working date: Monday to Friday (3) Salary and other benefits: - Total pay 40 million won/year before tax - Medical insurance - National pension - Paid vacation   7.
