Job Description

1. Number of Position Available : 1

 

2. Eligibility :  

a) Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language and meet one of the following: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States or South Africa    

1) Bachelor’s degree in any field PLUS a TESOL/TEFL/CELTA (min. of 100 hrs) Certificate

2) Bachelor's degree with majors related to English teaching (Education / English Literature/English Language / Linguistics / TESOL / Second Language Studies / Other teaching related majors)    

3) Valid Elementary, Middle, or Secondary School Teacher’s License/Certificate  

b) Have a good command of the English language  

c) Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and life

d) Be mentally and physically healthy

 

3. Working Conditions:  

a) Contract Period: From March 1st 2020 to February 28th, 2021

b) Salary: 2.6 million KRW monthly (gross)  

- four major public insurance provided  

- severance package 

- sponsoring E-2 visa

 c) Working Days and Hours

- 8:30am to 3:30pm from Monday to Friday

- 28 lessons a week (including afterschool classes)

d) Job Responsibilities

- plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons

- prepare teaching materials

- prepare and set tests and examination papers

- track and report students’ performance data and give feedback

- attend and contribute to teaching staff meetings

- support and participate in special school events related to English 

※ Above conditions are subject to change upon agreement between the employee and employer. 


4. Application

5. Application Procedure:

a) Step 1: application review  

- Only limited number of applicants will receive an interview invitation by February 5th, 2020. 
b) Step 2: Interview and demo teaching

- Date: February 7th, 2020

- Time: 3:30pm

- Venue: Teachers’ office (2nd floor)

 ※ 15 minute teaching demo:     

- Target students: 1st grade students    

- English proficiency of the students: mixed level    

- Topic of the lesson: any      

- Lesson Plan should be prepared. 

 

6. Others  

a) Submitted documents shall not be returned to the applicants  

b) Final candidate must submit all the required documents. If he/she fails to provide, the employment decision can be canceled.

We also offer special programs such as musical club, dancing and ballet, swimming, skating, cub scouts, reading club, Chinese character club, computer club, and other after-school courses for students to hone their skills.       Foreign Language Education   Since classes began in 1965, we have always had an English program, and in 2002, we added a Chinese class as well to help our students become global leaders.  We have specialized classes for our third to sixth grade students and we have 2 native English speakers and 1 native Korean speaker to help students improve their reading and speaking skills. Fourth and fifth grade students have the opportunity to study in America at Brentwood School during winter vacation for e weeks to practice their English skills and meet new friends.     A Day in a Student's Life       Our Location    We're located right where all the action is in Seodaemun, Seoul. Gwanghwamun and Gyeongbokgung are just one stop away and you can enjoy the traditional sites of Korea as well as explore the hotspots in Seoul. We're super close to Seoul Station and we're also close to Hongdae, which is the hip, trendy area with a lot of great shopping, dining, cafes, and activities.
