SP Daechi Reading Town
About Us Reading Town began in New York in 1968 and has become a global leader in private education with over 200 branches around the world. We offer elite programs in Language Arts (reading, writing, and presentation) and math. Our philosophy is that effective learning is the single greatest investment you can do for yourself, and it is an investment that keeps on returning to you. At Daechi Reading Town, we use American curriculum to help students from elementary grade 1 to middle school grade 9 gain a passion for learning and improve their English skills in listening, spelling, reading, writing, and speaking. We have also developed our own curriculum and workbooks so students can learn more effectively. Daechi Reading Town is exclusively partnered with St. Paul Preparatory School, an international school, and we allow our teachers to choose to work at either or both institutions. We are also a certified member of the AACS (The American Association of Christian Schools). Our Curriculum Reading is a fundamental skill for future success. At Reading Town, our goal is to help students develop a life-long passion for reading and to help them improve their reading level by at least 2 years ahead of their school grade. Each week, students choose 1 or 2 books from Reading Town's in-house library and read them at home or at Reading Town. Once students have completed reading the book, they then discuss the book (or books) with their instructors and take a web-based learning assessment. We offer a variety of reading programs for our students based on their grades and we have multiple book collections in our in-house library as well as online library with a total of more than 4,000 hand-selected books. Our book collection includes original classics, autobiographies, and literary and informational texts, such as Newbery and Caldecott awarded books. Although our main focus is reading, we also provide programs for writing and mathematics as well as presentation and SAT/ACT test prep classes. In-house Library Online Library To meet Common Core Standards and each grade level’s diverse reading requirements, we have continually expanded and modernized our in-center library collections. Our goal is to provide a balance between fiction and non-fiction genres, including reading series with high interest among teens. Our in-house library enables you to read must-read books from a wider variety of genres and subjects than ever before. We also offer more than 1,500 highly-interactive e-books called NextBukTM in 13 different genres for Kindergarten to 8th graders, which can be accessed anywhere and anytime. NextBukTM is the next-generation e-book, which integrates interactive stories, artwork, workbooks, and tests into a single online platform.
