Job Description

About Us:

Ivy Collegiate School (ICS) is a very small independent school (founded in 2014) that is focused on accelerating motivated students through a rigorous curriculum of AP classes, unique electives, and intensive extracurriculars with the goal of preparing for both college entry and the road beyond. Our students are uniquely focused and place a great deal of trust in their instructors (of which there are few).

Location:

Cheongna, Incheon (Note: This is NOT Seoul - the bus + train ride is around an hour.)

About You:

It is very important to us that a candidate be a good fit for our community, be excited by both teaching and student growth, and be independently-driven. We seek individuals who are capable of leading their own lessons, adapting to curricular changes, and inspiring students from grades 1 to 12.

No particular previous experience is necessary, but you must be confident in your ability to teach the following subjects:

  • English Language (at both the ES/MS levels)

  • Mathematics (at either the ES/MS level)

  • Social Science (at either the ES/MS level)

(Note: We may also ask you to design an elective course of your choice that suits your personal intellectual interests.)

You should have at least a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree. Some prior teaching experience is preferred but unnecessary for the right individual. Please have your degree, apostille, and documents ready for submission to the Ministry of Education. We prefer candidates who are already residing in Korea, but we’re open to overseas candidates if the fit is right.

About the Position:

The working hours will be four days per week - Monday to Thursday, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Lunch is provided on premises, time is allotted for preparation, and the classroom teaching hours is around 28 - 32 per week. Classes are held from August to June and summer programming runs for 6-8 weeks in July/August. Insurance are provided.

Compensation is commensurate with background & experience, but it is competitive.
