Job Description

 

International Studies Abroad (ISA) is an international company which provides college students in the United States and Canada the opportunity to explore the world through educational and cultural exchange in many different countries. ISA has operated in Busan since spring 2018 and provides students with the opportunity to get a high level of education from Pusan National University, which is considered one of the best National Universities in Korea.

The employee will serve as ISA Resident Coordinator and will be responsible for the management of the ISA program in Busan, working under the direction of the Resident Director of Seoul, the ISA Management Team in Austin, Texas, and in cooperation with other ISA Resident Directors in the region. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Student Services

  • Represent ISA in various dealings with host universities with matters related to students’ enrollment, behavioural issues of students, and obtaining course descriptions and transcripts for participants
  • Monitor well-being of students
  • Assist students with integration into the local culture and provide students with information and advice about opportunities for cultural enrichment
  • Accompany students on ISA excursions. Significant weekend travel is required
  • Remain in contact for students in the event they may need urgent assistance with medical problems, emotional stress, academic issues, housing problems, and/or other issues that may arise
  • Manage various logistical matters such as making hotel reservations, arranging tours and cultural visits, and coordinating group transportation
  • Accompany students to the doctor as deemed appropriate by ISA management

Housing

  • Assist students throughout program
  • Proactively work with students to establish a positive living atmosphere among their roommates
  • Resolve housing-based disputes and disciplinary issues with students according to ISA policies

Job type part-time work for a year (8/28/2019 – 8/14/2020)

         Work mostly during weekends taking students on excursions and activities

Requirement Basic Korean is required.

* Note: The successful applicant will already be legally eligible to work in Korea, as ISA doesn’t provide any kind of working visa.
