Elite H.S. AP Biology/Anatomy and Physiology teacher -- August 2020
The Bugil Academy Global Leader Program (GLP) is looking for a bright, energetic, flexible professional capable of teaching AP Biology and Anatomy and Physiology to 12th grade students. Specifically, the currently available position requires a candidate to teach one section of AP Biology, and one section of Anatomy and Physiology. These classes are identical to ones that would be found in an American-type classroom – they are not ESL/ELL classes. Further information about the content of the classes is available upon request. The Bugil Academy Global Leader Program is a coed college preparatory boarding school in Cheonan, Korea, founded and sponsored by the Hanwha Corporation. Featuring a challenging AP curriculum taught in English-only classes, GLP provides unparalleled preparation for universities worldwide. The GLP endeavors to recruit students who have demonstrated a high aptitude and passion for learning and nurture them into future global leaders. We strive to educate students holistically, through meaningful academics and vibrant extracurricular activities, to foster moral growth and a concern for humanity. The GLP has a 2:1 student-to-teacher ratio, and the average class size is around 5. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the GLP will only remain open for one more semester and currently only has 12th grade students. Our teachers often have firsthand experience in their chosen fields, which allows them to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. We prefer, but do not require, candidates who have at least two years of full-time experience teaching AP Biology and hold an advanced degree in Biology. F visa holders are highly preferred, but an E-7 visa holder with a teaching certificate in Biology plus one year of experience teaching Biology after obtaining the certificate will be considered. Mostly, we are looking for an exceptional teacher who welcomes the rewards and challenges of living and teaching abroad. This one-semester position will begin in August 2020 (contract starts on August 1 with classes starting on August 17) and last for six months until January 31, 2021. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer free housing, medical insurance, retirement, and visa assistance if required.
