Connecting the central part of Seoul with the northeastern region, Seongbuk is an upscale residential area with several parks, diplomatic villas and streams scattered around.
Several of the famous Korean universities are also located in Seongbuk-gu, and due to its hilly terrain boast beautiful campuses that are popular with the locals in autumn and spring. Especially notable are Korea University. Kookmin University, and Sungshin Women's University. The district also has access to the trails of the Bukhansan Mountain and Bugaksan Mountain.
For those who want to experience some Korean traditional culture and cuisine, Samcheonggak at the foot of the Bugaksan Mountain offers authentic Korean dishes in a historic banquet hall.

Oktoberfest (Namhae German Village)
October 3rd - 5th Venue: German Village 92, Dogil-ro, Namhae-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do (경상남도 남해군 삼동면 독일로 92 독일마을) Come experience a food and beer festival like never before! Germany’s famous Oktoberfest takes place annually in Korea’s German Village every October. The festival offers much to see and do such as a Latin dance performance, German wine tasting, and lots of opportunity to try German food and beer. Take in the scenery of the beautiful village comprised of traditional German white-walled, red-roofed homes and buildings. This mix of Korean and German culture is truly a unique experience!
Living in Seoul Talk Series
September 28, 2019 (Saturday) 9:30am to 6:00pm Itaewon Global Village Center will be hosting its first event to commemorate the “International Day for the Universal Access to Information”, entitled “Living in Seoul Talk Series”! This series will be divided into three sessions: Part 1: Living in Seoul Orientation for Newcomers in Korea (9:30am~12:00pm) - A talk on basic information on living in Seoul, crime prevention, banking, medical care, Korean culture and so on. Part 2: Basic Korean Laws by Atty. Jaesung Hong of JS Legal (1:30pm~3:30pm) - A talk on civil and criminal laws in Korea Part 3: Standard Korean Labor Law by Atty. Bongsoo Jung of Kangnam Labor Law Firm (4:00pm~6:00pm) - A talk on basic labor laws As an aspect of Itaewon GVC’s commitment to support foreigners living in Seoul, and as an agency heading the international community, we uphold the undertaking of promoting the importance of knowing one’s rights.
