The Seafood Center of Seoul

Main sights: Noryangjin Fish Market, National Cemetery, Boramae Park

The district of Dongjak-gu is a rather quiet residential area with two big parks - Boramae and National Cemetery - and the biggest fish market in Seoul.

Dongjak's famous Noryangjin Fish Market and surrounding street food stalls are the mecca for foodies from all over Seoul. Around 50% of all seafood consumed in the metropolitan area comes from the auctions of the Noryangjin market. Individual buyers can come when the auction (usually active from 1am to 5am) is over and choose anything from crabs, fish, and shrimps to more exquisite delicacies that can be directly cooked in many tiny restaurants located on the upper floors of the building.
