Figure Museum W

피규어뮤엄 W

Located in the upscale area of Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Figure Museum W is a conceptual museum that combines elements of a theme park, comic book store, and an exhibition hall. Here, visitors of all ages can enjoy rows upon rows of rare action figures of all sizes from iconic anime and comic book series. With a collection of over 1000 figures, some of which are valued at nearly 1 million USD, the museum is a great place for any otaku or simply anyone who wants to rekindle old childhood hobbies and interests.

The two co-owners of the museum are elementary school friends who have been avid collectors of figures and toys for quite some time. They, along with two other friends, came up with a plan to showcase their massive collections together at a special space, and thus Figure Museum W was born. The museum is comprised of several zones, and often hosts special exhibitions related to comics, robots, and anime. The toy zone exhibits rare limited-edition items and there is also a variety of action figures available for purchase at the museum store.

Most well-known animated characters from Korea, Japan, and the US can be spotted here. The most prized item is the RX-93V, from the famous anime Gundam, which is the only one of its kind with a value of about 200,000 USD. The museum has also attracted quite a few celebrity visitors, including Big Bang's Seungri, D.O of EXO, Lee Jongseok, Lee Gwangsu, Im Siwan, and Son Dongwoon, and the hit drama "Oh! My Venus", starring So Jisub and Shin Mina, had several scenes shot here.
