Seoul's Most Iconic Landmark

N Seoul Tower

N서울타워

Located in the center of the city, just north of the Han River, Namsan Seoul Tower is Seoul’s most iconic landmark. Perched on the top of Namsan Mountain, its towering presence dominates Seoul’s skyline and provides breathtaking views of the city, making this a popular date spot for couples. In fact, many couples hang locks on the tower’s fence as a symbol of their eternal love. The tower stands 238 meters tall and combined with the height of Namsan Mountain, gives visitors an incredible panoramic view of Seoul from 480 meters high. During the day, you can visually map out all the areas of downtown Seoul. At night, you can take in all the sparkling city lights in a city that never sleeps. Down below you can see the ever-changing natural scenery of Namsan Park - one of the biggest parks in Seoul.

Originally built as a broadcasting tower in 1969, it now also functions as an observatory, attracting millions of visitors every year. It’s been voted by Seoul residents as the city’s most scenic location, and by tourists as the city’s number one tourist attraction. The entire complex is officially called Namsan Seoul Tower, which is divided into two parts: the upper half, where the observatory is located, is called N Seoul Tower, while the bottom half is known as Seoul Tower Plaza. Seoul N Tower is home to a wide range of facilities, including the main observatory, a few restaurants, including a revolving restaurant on the top floor of the tower, and coffee shops, while the Seoul Tower Plaza hosts Hello Kitty Island, the Hanbok Cultural Experience Center, numerous restaurants, and cafes, and more. Admission to Seoul Tower Plaza is free, but tickets must be bought to enter N Seoul Tower.

The tower has also been a hot spot for Korean dramas and TV shows, with all-time hits such as "Running Man" and "Boys Over Flowers" having shot scenes at the tower. For an even more spectacular experience, take the cable car up to Seoul N Tower from the base of Namsan Mountain, across from Myeongdong, and slowly ascend over Seoul’s skyline.

The view is just gorgeous. All in all, if you had to visit only 1 tower in Seoul, this is the one!!
Admission went smoothly as we only had to redeem the voucher we got from WorknPlay via the redemption machine. We just followed the instructions mentioned above.

Visited the tower with my family last month, we loved it!
This the best view point location from which all can gaze down on the whole city of Seoul. The best thing about the tower is that you have a lot of other attractions around to enjoy, including restaurants, shopping and live performances.
I highly recommend you to take the cable car if you're taking a baby stroller with you, as there is a high slope that makes it difficult to climb up if you arrive by a bus.
