Traditional Korean Dining from the Top of Seoul

Judging from the name ‘Bicena’ you might expect a European restaurant. However, it is actually a combination of three Korean words, bium (emptying), cheum (filling), and nanum (sharing). So what you’ll find is one of the finest Korean restaurants, serving authentic Korean food that you can't taste anywhere else. Located on the 81st floor of Signiel Seoul Hotel, Bicena is the highest restaurant in Seoul, and you can enjoy the view of Seokcheon Lake and Seoul whilst you dine. Creativity and tradition co-exist at ‘Bicena’, as the dishes developed by the young and creative head chef Bang Gi Su and his crew are not pungent, but rather have a deep flavor. Along with ‘Hwayo’, premium traditional Korean hard liquor, various wines are available and a sommelier is present to recommend the best wine to compliment your dish. It's an extremely pricey restaurant, but if you have plenty of money to spend, this is a terrific option.

Bicena is run by Korean food connoisseur and traditional potter Cho Tae Kwon, and his daughter, Lucia Cho. Their first foray into fine Korean dining was Gaon, which achieved a Michelin three-star rating. With the success of Gaon, the family decided to expand and open another high-end Korean dining establishment, Bicena, in the Hannam-dong neighborhood. When the opportunity arose to move into the brand new Lotte Tower, Lucia Cho didn’t hesitate, and Bicena now resides on its 81st floor.

On traditional holidays such as Korean Thanksgiving and Lunar New Year, Bicena will put out special course meals with dishes inspired by traditional Korean holiday food. These courses are really worth trying if you can manage to reserve seats during these busy periods. Also, if you reserved tickets at Charlotte Theater, ‘Bicena’ is the perfect place to dine before the evening performance starts. If you bring your tickets to ‘Bicena’ you can enjoy the special 백록 Pure Innocence pre-theatre special course at a discounted price. The discount is valid up to five days prior or after the date of the performance mentioned.
