Located in the northeast part of Seoul, Kyung Hee University is one of Korea’s top universities, boasting plenty of famous alumni such as current Korean president Moon Jae-in and K-Pop megastar G-Dragon. It’s also widely considered to have the most beautiful college campus in the country with its mix of modern, classic, and gothic buildings, and lush, vibrant greenery. The campus is a very popular spot amongst locals going for a stroll on a nice day, and come cherry blossom season the campus is packed with people taking pictures of the numerous cherry blossom trees on Kyung Hee University’s campus in full bloom.
The back area of the campus forms part of the base of Cheongang Mountain, located directly behind the university. This area is largely forest, with just a handful of buildings, and is home to the small, charming Sundong Lake. It’s a nice, secluded peaceful oasis where students can relax and get away from the stresses of university life and others can take a break from the chaos of the city.
