Located in the far eastern part of Seoul, Ttukseom Hangang Park offers a wide range of facilities to enjoy a ton of outdoor activities and relax by the river. In the summer, visitors can partake in windsurfing, waterskiing, motor boating, or spend the day swimming in the park’s outdoor swimming pools. The fun continues all season long with a sledding hill and ice skating rink open through the winter months and seasonal flower exhibitions during the spring and fall.
The park also boasts two soccer fields, four basketball courts (including two for the disabled), four tennis courts, four gateball courts, five badminton courts, a foot volleyball court, rock climbing wall, skate park, and various outdoor exercise equipment. You might also notice a metal snake-like building next to the subway; this is the Jabeolle, or J-Bug, a three-story cultural complex that houses art exhibitions, performances, and an observatory. There’s even a wonderful water fountain show at the Splash Fountain, which puts on a night musical fountain show with beautiful images projected onto the Hangang River.
Ttukseom Hangang Park hosts a weekly flea market every weekend from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm from April to October. Hundreds of people come to sell their second-hand goods, with 10% of their profits going to charity. You can apply to sell at the market through the Ttukseom Beautiful Flea Market website.
