Fully completed and opened to the public in November 2014, Sevit Some has become a Han River landmark, attracting visitors with its central location next to the Banpo Bridge, hyper-futuristic architecture, and wonderful views of Namsan Tower. Sevit Some comprises three small artificial islands, Gavit, Chavit, and Solvit, right off the southern bank of the Han River, connected to the shore by a series of walkways. Tables and chairs are set up along the boardwalks of each island, allowing visitors to sit down, relax, and take in the wonderful view and fresh river air.
The islands boast an abundance of facilities, such as restaurants, a convenience store, observation decks, and even a convention center. There are a total of four restaurants; Chavit Cuisine and Chavit PDR on Chavit Island, and Ola and Vista Restaurant on Gavit Island. Each one of these restaurants is high-end, serving mainly western food, and a bit on the expensive side. There’s also plenty of entertainment for the kids; Chavit has a small arcade on the first floor, and Solvit has a children’s play zone called P.I.M. (Play In Museum), which is filled with fun games and activity zones. There’s also an outdoor beer garden run by renowned German brewery Maisel’s Weisse on Chavit Island, and come summertime, Gavit’s luxurious rooftop hosts the monthly Deluxe Sunsets party, with DJs playing from daytime until late into the night on the first Sunday of every month.
