Hyeopjae Beach is arguably one of Jeju Island's most picturesque beaches, with clear shallow water stretching for what seems like miles and the charming Biyangdo Island in the near distance offshore. It's a favorite spot for families because kids can play in the shallow water without any worries but it also attracts people of all ages for its incredible scenery, especially during sunset. Hyeopjae Beach is situated right next to the Jeju Coastal Road, so getting to the beach by public transportation is easy.
The beach offers the usual amenities; showers, changing rooms, parking, etc., although it should be noted that parking is rather limited. The beach is officially open until 22:00, so you can go for a night swim while lifeguards are still on duty. There are a number of great viewing points to snap photos of nearby Biyongdo Island. You can also visit the island by taking a boat from the nearby Hallim Port. A roundtrip ticket costs just 6,000 won, with three boats leaving daily.
