Doota Mall

Opened in 1999 by one of Korea's largest conglomerates, Doosan, Doota Mall has become one of the premier shopping destinations in Dongdaemun and is especially popular amongst tourists for its duty-free shop and tax refunds. The mall occupies the first thirteen floors of Doosan's headquarter building, with the top five floors of the mall functioning as a duty-free shop for foreign tourists. Its home to over 500 stores and attracts about 20 million visitors each year. 


The mall has a wide range of stores, from luxury designer brands to small independent designers selling a range of goods from clothing and accessories to cosmetics and even hosts a No Brand store. The first floor is home to a number of designer boutiques, while the second and third floors are for women's fashion. The fourth-floor hosts cosmetics and bag retailers and the fifth floor is for kids' clothing. The sixth floor has a food court as well as various accessories and craft stores, while the seventh floor on up is home to a large duty-free shop for foreign tourists to buy luxury brand goods tax-free. The two basement floors are set aside for men's fashion and sportswear. 


Doota Mall also has quite a few amenities. A Currency Exchange and stroller rental are open on the first floor and there's also a tourist lounge set up on the fourth floor along with a tax refund desk and a Hana Bank and Woori Bank on the B1 floor. Foreign tourists can receive an immediate tax refund at Doota Mall for any goods purchased under 200,000 won. Shoppers can also get a Doota membership which allows members to accumulate points for discounts and special sales.
