Daecheon Beach is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches in Korea, located only two hours away from Seoul in the city of Boryeong along the Yellow Sea. Global recognition came to Daecheon when it became the main venue of the Boryeong Mud Festival; tons of mud from the nearby natural mudflats are transported to the beach every year in July and put in the countless inflatable baths, slides, and obstacle courses. For ten days Daecheon Beach becomes the site of a mega party filled with music, fun activities, and cheerful guests. During the other 355 days of the year, the beach continues to attract visitors with its fun summer activities, all-year-round festivals, tasty food, and beautiful nature. The beach annually attracts over 10 million visitors from all over Korea and thanks to its enormous size, spanning 3.5km with an average width of 100m, it can still offer a relaxing and comfortable space for its visitors.
