Luxury Chinese Dining Loved by Super Junior

Hai Di Lao Hot Pot

하이디라오

Haidilao Hot Pot is a world-famous chain of hot pot restaurants founded in Sichuan Province in China in 1994. Starting as a small business selling malatang - a hot and spicy soup sold as street food in China - it grew into a large global network of restaurants with locations in Beijing, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Singapore, and, finally, Seoul. The brand is recognized not only for its delicious food but also for its impeccable service: customers waiting in line are offered free manicures, back rubs, and even games to ease their time waiting on line.

The restaurant serves four kinds of broth with various ingredients, including meat, vegetables, noodles, and dumplings, which you can manually select on the iPad menu. Stoves are built into each table to keep the broth boiling while you add the chosen ingredients. It’s possible to order a hotpot with two compartments set apart by a metal divider, designed to match the curved yin-yang symbol, if you want to try multiple broths. Usually, each person ends up paying about 20,000 - 30,000 won for everything other than the broth. Of the four broths available, the most popular ones are the white soup and spicy red soup, while those not good with spicy foods should go with the tomato base. The Myeongdong location is mostly known for being frequented by K-celebrities, most notably members of Super Junior, EXO and TVXQ
