Former Sewage Plant Turned Park

Seonyudo Park

Formerly a water filtration plant located on a small island in the middle of the Han River, Seonyudo Park is one of Seoul’s most unique and famous parks with its eclectic mix of gorgeous tree-lined paths, small meadows, and rustic industrial structures. Connected to both sides of the Han River by the Yanghwa Bridge, Seonyudo Park is a neat little oasis in the midst of one of the world’s most crowded cities where Seoulites can take a breather from city life. The park features numerous walking trails, four open meadows, a botanical garden, and the Seoul Design Gallery. Much of the equipment from the old filtration plant has been utilized in the design of the park, which combined with the natural landscape makes for a unique sight. Seonyudo Park has also been a popular shooting location for dramas, with famous programs such as “Boys Over Flowers”, “Goong”, and “Almost Love” having filmed scenes in the park.
