Haneul Park is one of the highest points in Sangam-dong and offers a great view of the Han River and its bridges, Namsan Tower, and Yeouido. Visitors can access Haneul Park by crossing the bridge that connects it to the Peace Park at the west side of Nanji pond. There are several entrances to the park, the most extreme being the famous Haneul stairs, with 291 steps that lead to silver grass fields at the top. Apart from the stairs, visitors can use a more moderate route that runs alongside the hill or ride a small cart for 2,000 won one-way or 3,000 won round-trip.
The park is famous for its breathtaking views of the sunset that visitors can enjoy from numerous observation decks, as well as the annual Silver Grass festival. Many romantic dramas used the location because of its unique serene atmosphere and unforgettable night views of Seoul (“Another Miss Oh”, "Introverted Boss”, “Manhole” among the most recent). There are numerous interesting events and attractions to visit throughout the year; harvest exhibitions, sunflower fields, poppies and azalea blooms, sequoia alleys, open-air music performances, and much more.
