Jin Okhwa Original Chicken Restaurant


The Michelin-rated Jin Okhwa Original Chicken Restaurant opened its doors all the way back in 1978. It serves a special Korean chicken dish called 'dakhanmari', which literally translates as 'one whole chicken'. It consists of an entire chicken boiled in a broth that consists of just a handful of ingredients; chicken stock, water, and garlic. Jin Okhwa Original Chicken Restaurant uses young chickens for its dakhanmari, usually barely a month old, and lightly seasons them before boiling it at your table. The taste is actually quite plain, which is why it's recommended to either dip the chicken in a special sauce, comprising of soy sauce, spicy mustard, and vinegar, or chili sauce, or throw chili sauce and kimchi into the pot while its boiling to give it a bit of a kick. You can also add noodles or rice cakes to the pot and let it soak in the flavor from the boiled chicken.
