What is CNC processing? CNC in its entire form is a computer numerical control, which uses code controls for the composition of the cutting head, spindle speed, RPM, etc. CNC creates metal machine components.

When we receive machined CNC components, we take into account several criteria like their shape, size, tolerances, quality of raw material, etc. But one thing most of us forget to do — it's done. Finishing shall be carried out after the creation of CNC machine tools, but attention must be taken and cannot be selected randomly.

In this article I will give you a short explanation on how to choose the correct snack for your machine and different sorts of snacks. You might always request a decorating quote from the CNC service provider.

CNC machine tool type facing:

The following are the basic surface finish kinds provided by each CNC machining company:

Completion

In most firms, milling is one of the usual finishing types. During processing, the ground surface maintains the surface of the substance. It has a sluggish and gritty finish. The tool marks on the surface remain appear but extra polishing and smoothing can be done to erase the texture of the machine.

The average surface ruggedness is around 3.2 μm. So if you think the ruggedness is out of your comfort zone, do extra smoothing. It is one of the most economical surface treatments for CNC machining. It is also the optimum surface finish for prototyping, installation and installation.

Processing of sandblasting

Shoot peening is just as it sounds. Yes! Yes! Yes! For finishing, little glass beads are sprayed onto the required surface. The bead sprinkler consists of small spherical glass beads which are blown by compressed air to CNC machined objects.

Sandblasting creates a matte or satin finished smooth, even texture. Sandstroke can vary (lightly) in size and is suited for esthetic machinery or instruments requiring stunning visual effects.

Treatment of powder coating

Powder covered finishes reflect the manner in which polymer powder is sprayed over the machine's surface, which gives increased strength and wear resistance. This surface treatment is ideal for all sorts of machinery irrespective of size, mold or prototype.

If the intended machine appearance is not fulfilled or satisfied, you can always choose second, third and as many fabrics as you want. Bear in mind, however, that it may influence dimensional tolerances.

Surface treatment type Anodized II

The Type II anodized layer produces a homogeneous and corrosion resistant surface layer. You can even paint surfaces with this kind of treatment, while yet giving longer durability. Metal machine parts are frequently anodised.

There is another thing you need to know before the surface treatment type is completed. The electrochemical coating technique is non-conductive, thus make sure that the areas required for electricity are covered. This is also anodizing type II, and there's one more.

Surface treatment of type III anodized

Last but not least, the anodizing treatment of Type III. What's the distinction? Anodizing type III is ideal for machine types requiring wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It imparts a thick layer to the material to stay longer.

Like anodization type II, the type III coating is non-conductive. For metals such as aluminum, titanium and magnesium, anodic oxidation may be employed. Type III anodization of components and aesthetic items is conducted.
