Permanently deleted photos from mobile phones or computers remain in the Trash folder in Google Photos for 60 days. If you have deleted the photos within 60 days, you can restore them from the Trash folder on your computer or phone.

Steps to recover photos from trash on computer

On a computer, open photos.google.com in your browser

Click on the menu in the upper left corner.

Select trash

Select the photos you want to recover. Hover your mouse over the image and click the Done icon

Click on the restore icon at the top right

The photos will be restored to your Google Photos library and added back to your own albums.

Steps to Recover Deleted Photos from Recycle Bin on Android Phone / iPhone / iPad

On your phone, open the Google Photos app.

In the top right corner, tap the menu icon

Click Trash or Trash

Recover Google Photos from Recycle Bin on Android Phone / iPhone / iPad

Long press on the photo you want to restore. Tap Restore at the bottom.

The photo will return to your phone's Gallery app, your Google Photos library, and the original album.

If you can't see your deleted photo in Trash / Trash, it means the photo was permanently deleted. You can get help from Photo Recovery software to recover permanently deleted photos from phone or computer.

Note: Photos that you delete from Google Photos are also removed from:

• Google photo albums

• Google Drive (if you sync your photos with Google Drive)

• photos.google.com

• Any device paired

• From the shared album, you added them to
