This summer saw the opening of a number of now hot & established Itaewon nightlife spots, Soul Tree has to be one of them.
A new addition on the main strip of Itaewon, just having opened on July 17th, Soul Tree offers a new club for fans of hip-hop.
Unlike other smaller Itaewon nightlife spots, this club boasts two whole floors.
The bottom floor includes the main bar, with the DJ booth and dance floor as well as VIP tables at the back.
The second floor includes another bar with many more tables and an overlooking terrace cut out for people to watch others dancing downstairs.
The music is good and they'll play hip-hop, RnB, mashups. I heard all my favorites, while I was there as well as some very welcome throwbacks. They'll also often bring MC's and get the crowd going.
I'd say Soul Tree comes really close to hitting bullseye, unlike many other clubs in getting the mixture of a great nightlife spot. The music is good, the location is great, the drinks are cheap and good, and the layout makes for a great night. The place is not too small, and when the dance floor gets crowded, many spend a breather up on the second floor terrace and still get a view of the DJ. I think the layout in general, makes for a much more comfortable time spent at the club, I lasted a lot longer here than many other places where i'll keep going outside for room to breathe.
The atmosphere is very relaxed yet there's always people dancing in front of the DJ. It's perfect for when you can't handle somewhere where people are acting a little too loose and crazy. At Soul Tree, everyone's just grooving and chilling to the music.
My favorite part about Soul Tree though has to be the very friendly bartenders, they'll put on a show when they make your drink. It's little details like these that make a place standout and give a lasting impression to gain loyal customers.
