So you visited Korea - sadly though, your favorite YG artist does not have any concert during your
stay! You told yourself that this trip should not end without seeing even just G.D. oppa's smile...
but how on earth are you going to be able to get a glimpse of any of the YG family artists?
This is the time where you should try what local K-pop fans do (or probably many foreign fans who've
been staying in Korea already)! These fans allot a day to visit the YG Entertainment building just
to see their favorite artists. Visiting the building will give you 10-30% chance on seeing G-dragon,
T.O.P, Sandara Park, or any YG artists getting off or getting on their company cars! Well, if they are
not on a hurry, they might give a friendly wave greeting!
Ordinary people are not allowed to enter the building. Which means, you can only watch your
favorite YG Artists from a far. Fortunately, there is a GS25 convenience store right outside the
building where you can grab a drink or food while
spying waiting outside the YG Entertainment
building. Fans who wait outside range from giggling high school teenager who should be in
class or random foreigners who you'll instantly become friends with as you talk about
your fandom and how Taeyang is losing his ABS! (oh no! Kidding!)
If you're a huge fan - you'd probably say "I SAW OPPA, I CAN DIE NOOOOWWW" but if you are
not, you'd probably just think it's just some random building and would likely just pass like
any other store.
Now, you might ask, how do I get there? Simple!
1. Take the Seoul Subway Line no. 2 or line no. 6 and get off at 합정역 / Hapjeong Station.
2. Get out through exit 8, you should be staring at an elevated road
3. Continue walking until you reach an SK Gas Station beside Namkyung Hotel.
4. From there turn right and you will instantly see the YG Entertainment building (something
like the photo below).
The YG building can look impressive at night, especially if they are aggressively promoting a new
album or a concert. At night, the wall turns into a huge display where posters or photos of
their artists appear! I definitely think it's good because somehow I find the YG style cool and hip!
And THAT's how you complete your trip! ;) For other K-pop/Hallyu related posts, check our Hot spot
