Public Beaches Open for Summer!

The start of June marks the official start of beach season in the City, and there are plenty of sunbathing and swimming spots open for public recreation.

Starting on June 1st, lifeguards are on duty daily, and the season ends on around August 31st. Only for a limited season, there is no time to waste.

 

Korea is a peninsula surrounded by sea, offering plenty of beaches in various shapes and sizes. Visiting one of its many beautiful beaches is the top 1st must-do list for tourists visiting Korea in summer.

 

As a head start, Haeundae, Songdo, and Song-jung beach in Busan are open starting on June 1st. Following list are Daecheon Beach on 18th, and Gyeong-po Beach on July 8th.

June early opening of beaches open during the day only and close at 6pm before official opening on July 1st.

 

Beaches in Southern area in Busan and Kyung nam provinces are fastest to open, and most beaches open by the first week of July.

 

Currently beaches across the country are preparing for the peak season, and lodging facilities and restaurants around are also getting ready to welcome the vacationers coming for summer escape. This year 306 beaches are opening in total, 12 beaches more than last summer, and all beaches will have exclusive events and festivals for extra entertainments.

 

City officials plan to set up temporary police offices and tourist service centers in surrounding areas for the safety and added convenience for travelers.
