From 27th April to 29th of October 2017, Daelim Museum is holding the exhibition by Todd Selby, a photographer and illustrator who offers an insider view of the lifestyle of creatives in their unique surroundings. Along with Todd Selby's signature photography, colorfully painted light-hearted illustrations, films, exclusive large-scale installations, all of his imaginative and whimsical works will be present.
Todd Selby became well-known by posting photographs and illustrations, the life and stories of prominent creative individuals on his blog 'theselby.com' which led to 100,000 visits a day. Before SNS such as Instagram became popular means to communicate, Selby's blog offered the private space of celebrities such as the head designer of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, creative shoe designer, Christian Louboutin, the editor of fashion magazine 'Purple', Olivier Zahm. These photos were captured with humor and intimacy as if we are looking inside friends' home. Creatives from various fields; fashion, design, film, architecture, and cooking are eager to collaborate with Todd Selby who is working actively as a visual communicator.
From outdoor garden to inside space, the exhibition turns the entire museum into the house of Todd Selby and his friends, showing their lifestyle and works full of joyful imagination. Todd Selby (born 1977, California, USA) is a photographer and illustrator who became well-known by posting on his website, photographer and stories of the private spaces; houses, studio, and kitchen of colorful people around the world. Selby, who has a unique eye for capturing his subjects in their surroundings, makes photography and illustration work with humor and affection. Not only he collaborated with celebrities, designers, artists, musicians, models, collectors around the worlds, Todd Selby is continuously getting calls from worldwide brands such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Nike, Ikea, Ebay, Microsoft, Airbnb, Hennessy, and Heineken.
