2015 Boryeong Mud Festival: Enjoyable, Educational, Electrifying
We are pleased to present and formally invite you to one of Korea’s finest festivals, the 18th Annual Mud Festival at Daecheon Beach!!!
Over 3 million visitors from around the world have come to experience this. Join the thousands who come each day to have the time of their lives!!!
Unlike any other cultural or traditional, the Boryeong Mud Festival is an interactive event with… mud. The mud is believed to have many valuable effects on the skin. The mud is trucked from one of the many famous mudflats in Boryeong city.
During the festival, you can participate in a wide variety of activities such as mud painting, mud wrestling, mud massages, obstacle courses, slides and a huge beach party with a DJ.
HISTORY OF THE BORYEONG MUD
In 1996 many of the Korean cosmetics being produced were using mud from the Boryeong mud flats. It was said that the mud was full of healthy minerals good for the skin. In order to promote these cosmetics the Boryeong Mud Festial was born. The purpose of this festival was for people to have a better sense of understanding of the mud and cosmetics. The festival was a success and has become popular with both Koreans and westerners, as well as American Military personnel stationed in the country and international English teachers working in Korea.
THROUGH THE YEARS
With such a small idea to promote the Boryeong Mud, this small idea has paid dividends. Our mission is to create an environment where people came come to unite. Visitors can free themselves from their daily lives and participate almost immediately without any preparation. Most importantly, they can directly experience the benefits of Boryeong mud on skin and beauty. The people who participate are from different age groups. Families show up to enjoy the festivities. Westerners go to interact with the locals. Of course the young generation of teachers, students and other workers are the center of the festival. We provide no only just a festival but also a chance to enjoy traveling through the healthy effects of mud.
