Beach in Boryeong City, South Korea. On an ordinary summer day, which is in the month of July, the beach is like any typical island paradise with tourists and locals enjoying the white sand and the warm blue waters of the Yellow Sea.

It is amazing, however, that for one week of the entire year, this island paradise of Boryeong turns into a fiesta where people go crazy – over mud. Yes, mud is the reason why thousands flock to Boryeong for the annual Boryeong Mud Festival.
